Sometimes something happens that is so wonderful I have to pinch myself that it is true.
This year I plucked up the courage to enter two paintings into the open call for the, very prestigious, Royal Society of British Artists. Imagine my utter delight when one of them was accepted!
The images show the painting in progress and finished. It is titled 'Garden of Delights: Shepherdess'. Everyone who knows me knows I love Medieval Art. I always visit the older paintings in any gallery or museum first, the drawings, paintings and tapestries give me so much delight and their influence creeps into all my paintings especially the tiny details: I have a huge array of tiny brushes to do those little details.
Next month I shall have the pleasure of delivering my painting and spending time in London visiting some museums. I will miss the PV, always too busy but I will visit when the exhibition is on to take a good look at the entries and to chat with anyone there.
I really am CHUFFED!!!
I managed to complete two painting over the Christmas Holidays, here is a sneak preview while they wait to dry - oil paints always take a time!
The paintings go right back to my love of Medieval Art, I have so may books on that period of art and I love them them. Got a bit carried away by the rabbits this time.
Painter living in Cambridge. Mixes fantasy and realism and loves medieval art and it's detail. An avid sketcher.
