Ten brand new paintings make up this novel set featuring gold, copper and silver metal leaf to highlight the branches and trunks of these decorative sections of trees based on medieval tapestries, William Morris and Eastern miniatures.
This series is a progression of my mythical trees based on folklore and a few of the larger paintings are also on show including the Tree of Peace and the Tree of Plenty.
The corridor where the paintings hang is close to the Treatment Centre and the entrance to the Rosie Hospital. The metal leaf shines as you walk past lighting up different parts of the pictures.
Addenbrookes has a wonderful reputation not only as a hospital but also for its ever-changing art in the long corridors connecting the different departments. If you are visiting the hospital do look out for the paintings, they will make you smile.
Painter living in Cambridge. Mixes fantasy and realism and loves medieval art and it's detail. An avid sketcher.
