Inspired by a walk around Wimpole Hall where a few topiary trees are neatly shaped into semi circles. I packed the painted leaves into a tight semi circular space added a few extra branches off the trunk to give a bird a place to hide and painted in a tabby cat to chase it away! My paintings evolve as I progress.

I really enjoy making painting with stories, although you have to make your own versions when describing it to your children or grandchildren. Someone once asked me why my paintings were all happy, I was unable to answer.

This painting is on show with 3 others at the Byard Art Christmas Cracker 2021 exhibition.
