During the first Lockdown in Spring 2020, with galleries closed and her art classes cancelled, Maureen was happy painting, gardening and having time to do those things she could not normally fit in.
When the second Lockdown arrived the weather was not as sunny and warm and Maureen made the decision to draw a sketch every day and post it on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. At the start of the day she never knew what to sketch but the drawings represent her life under lockdown. Her classes had resumed via Zoom so two drawings a week were made with her art students using their themes. She aimed to take no longer than an hour a day and to post them around 7.30pm every evening.
This book is her visual diary of the lockdown which lasted 27 days from 5 November to 1 December. Maureen hopes you will enjoy this little slice of history.
Maureen will publish her Lockdown 3 sketches after it ends on 21 June 2021.
This 'Lockdown Sketches' book will be post free until 1 July 2021
